What we do

ExxonMobil's long history in Saudi Arabia started more than 80 years ago with the marketing of petroleum products in the Kingdom followed 20 years later by its participation in the original Arabian American Oil Company (Aramco).

ExxonMobil, represented in the country by ExxonMobil Saudi Arabia Inc. (EMSA), is one of the largest foreign investors in the Kingdom and also one of the largest private sector purchasers of Saudi Aramco crude oil. Through our joint venture (JV) interests we have participated in world-class petrochemicals manufacturing and petroleum refining operations in the Kingdom for over 30 years, including:

  • SAMREF - Saudi Aramco Mobil Refinery Company Ltd., a refining JV with Saudi Aramco
  • YANPET - Saudi Yanbu Petrochemical Company, a manufacturing JV with SABIC
  • KEMYA - Al-Jubail Petrochemical Company, a manufacturing JV with SABIC

All three joint ventures have consistently achieved outstanding results in workplace safety, health and environmental performance, while offering world-class training, development and long term employment opportunities for thousands of nationals, enabling these joint ventures to consistently achieve Saudization rates of close to 90%.

ExxonMobil is committed to strengthening these longstanding business relationships as we move forward in the pursuit of additional high quality, internationally competitive investment opportunities in the Kingdom.

By virtue of our operations, ExxonMobil Saudi Arabia has become an integral part of the local economy and community. As a responsible member of the communities in which we operate, we seek to improve the quality of life and create opportunities wherever we are, with specific focus on key initiatives in the fields of Education, Health, and Heritage.
