As a leader in an industry that relies on math, science and engineering, we believe that education is fundamental to development and economic growth, and enables progress across the globe. Our commitment, like our business partnerships in the Kingdom, is long-term. We firmly believe that education and progress go hand-in-hand.
King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba)
As a company that utilizes technology and innovation in every aspect of its business, ExxonMobil recognizes that proficiency in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) plays an important role in facilitating human progress. We believe it is fundamentally important to encourage young students to pursue studies and careers in STEM fields.
ExxonMobil Saudi Arabia is a proud supporter of Mawhiba, which is chaired by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and enables gifted students from all levels of society to contribute towards the advancement of the country. Mawhiba sponsors gifted students and inventors, encourages Saudis to generate creative ideas and produces a new generation of creative young minds.
Global Women in Management (GWIM)
Improving women’s economic potential is an investment that pays dividends. Research shows that investing in women’s education reduces poverty, stimulates family income, and improves health and nutrition for the entire family. As a part of its Women’s Economic Empowerment Initiative, ExxonMobil, along with the Center for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA), have trained over 400 women worldwide.
In 2011, ExxonMobil and the King Khalid Foundation brought GWIM to Saudi Arabia. The program trains 30 Saudi females annually, and strengthens their management, leadership and technical skills to build the next generation of women. Participants come from nonprofit organizations across the Kingdom representing a broad spectrum of community services.
